The Flies were a pioneering punk rock band from Boston active in the early 1980s. Nat Freedberg’s first major foray into the local music scene, The Flies combined three-piece punk energy with sharp songwriting and a garage rock edge.
They released The Flies EP (1982), the single All Hung Up (1984), the full-length album The Flies Get Wise (1984), and the follow-up EP The Flies Get Burned (1985). Their sound was melodic yet aggressive, with a tight rhythm section and Freedberg’s lyrical wit already on display.
